Still Waiting for Delivery
Purchased a HP Toner cartridge which was shipped May 26. Seller says he shipped by USPS Media mail and did not get a tracking number. Actually, he said USPS will not provide a tracking number for Media mail. I don't know if this is true or not. Just got today's mail and still no HP toner cartridge. This is only my 3rd or 4th eBay purchase and other purchases came quickly. Should I wait a few more days? What is the best next step? Thanks.|||Looks like he may be a dropshipper? Anyway, the auction said the item was to ship first class. I thought media mail was only for books,CDs etc. Was your payment instant or did it have to clear your bank first? If it was instant, I'd file an INR !|||Funds were in my PP account so I believe the payment was immediate. Yes, according to the USPS website, Media mail is for books, CD's etc. I just assumed that Media could include printer consumables since printing is related to media. I think Media mail can be first class so I didn't pay too much attention to the listing. What is an INR? Shouldn't I contact the seller first?||||||USPS are clamping down on misuse of Media Mail. Your package may have been opened. It may be returned to the sender or delivered to you, both options will have postage due. PP resolution is sometimes easier than eBay, but you can only open with one, not both. PP Resolution Center .. Media Mail is DIFFERENT than First Class Mail (and takes a lot longer to receive). I would contact the seller and tell them you haven't received your item, the listing stated First Class Mail (not Media Mail), and that you will be filing "Item Not Received" for a full refund.|||Can you give me a hint?|||millwrightben wrote: "For future reference.... can you spot how this seller is different from the other sellers that you've purchased from? Sellers like this most always spell trouble." Can you give me a hint?|||I haven't checked but I would guess that this seller has poor feedback, and your others didn't. I recommend you always check a sellers feedback before purchasing.~ Lucy ~ Guide to eBay Board AcronymsClick on for links to Help Pages for a new eBayer||||||Here is the message I sent to seller: "I did not receive the HP cartridge today. In a previous message you said that you shipped via Media mail. USPS does not allow you to ship a toner cartridge by Media mail. Also, your listing says you will ship by first class USPS mail. I sense a problem. If I do not get the cartridge in tomorrow's mail, I will initiate a claim to get a full refund." Here is seller's response: "As stated previously it has been shipped and if not recieved tomorrow please proceed as stated." I'd say item was never shipped. I'll let you know what happens.|||Do consider that if you paid on May 26th, and the item was shipped that same day, it has only been 6 business days since then, with a holiday weekend thrown in. I would wait at least one more week before filing to let the Post Office get it delivered. First Class and Media Mail are not guaranteed services. While they are usually delivered within a few days to 2 weeks, delays can and do sometimes occur.friends Director,|||I opened a PayPal dispute: "Gus, I did not receive the HP Toner today. First you told me you sent by Media Mail and did not have a tracking number. You said in your listing that the item would be sent First Class mail. It is against USPS rules to send this item by Media mail. In a later message, you changed your story and told me you sent the item by First Class mail. You asked me to wait 48 hours and I did. I sent you a message yesterday asking you to give me a full refund and I am still waiting for a response. You are a new eBay seller and I don't want to give you negative feedback. Please give me a full refund and I will consider this transaction terminated by mutual consent. I don't know if you are being dishonest or just don't know too much about USPS mail and eBay procedures. In any event, I no longer want to do business with you. Please refund my $40.00 immediately." I would have waited longer but the conflicting stories about shipping and the lack of repsonse to my last message tells me that something is fishy here. Since I have not had to take a step like this before, I welcome any feedback.||||||
