No seller info in items when delivered
I've never sold anything on ebay yet but I have bought a lot of items in the last 6 years. In fact I'v bought 145 items in the last 45 days. The items I've bought from US sellers have all had something in them to denote who the seller was so I could leave feedback. None of the out of US sellers have done this............... How can I leave feedback for you sellers if I don't know who it came from!!!!!! A couple of Initials scribbled in Chinese on the outside of the envelope or an in house ID number don't give me enough info to leave feedback for the right seller. I do buy the same item from multiple sellers. I don't if all the sellers will see this post. Maybe Ebay.com should send a notice to this effect to all active sellers. If they want feedback then the sellers should be aware of this problem. adnetbuyer|||So how many boards did you post this on? Someone pass me an explanation and a Tanq on the rocks please ...|||HMMMMMMM. I have purchased over 1500 items since 1998....about 5% have any sort of info in them. Get over it.|||Seriously? You can't remember what you bought? I include an item card in all of my purchases. But there have been times after packing and shipping, I've found the item card on my floor. Mistakes happen you know. Or some people aren't big sellers and either don't know to do it or don't think they need to. You got your item, right?|||One word - Packing slip.|||Looks like the buyer's getting confused because of all the small electronics he buys, card readers, chargers, memory sticks, adapters, etc. Like I told someone else recently, the seller looks at you as one buyer buying a memory stick or two. They can't see from your perspective of one man receiving multiple memory sticks every day and having to sort them out! I bought a Playstation cable here once. I knew who sent it. The guy I bought it from! See? You're going to have to ask them to write the auction number inside or on the box. Not everyone will do it, but if a few do, plus the few that insert a packing slip, then add that to the easy detective work by looking at the unique items or packages with return addresses, and those factors should leave a minimal amount hard to identify to a particular seller. But it won't be that hard because you've already narrowed it down, right? ~James~|||Anytime a buyer has asked me to write the item number on the packaging, I have. No problem. And like I said, I do include a card with my seller name and the item number on it. But sometimes, it has happened, that the card falls out as I'm packaging. I don't sell the types of things you buy though - mine I guess are more individual so I guess I think it would be more obvious.|||Only buy from those sellers that have left you a packing slip or card.Need a website fast?|||"A couple of Initials scribbled in Chinese on the outside of the envelope or an in house ID number don't give me enough info to leave feedback for the right seller. " Sounds like you are purchasing from high volume sellers. Not all sellers use packing slips. I would suggest , you request a packing slip in your order, PRIOR to bidding. USE the Ask Seller a ? feature in the auction listing. Example: Dear Seller, would it be possible to include a packing slip in with my order, if I win the auction. A simple auction number/seller user ID would suffice. Thank you , Potential Bidder If you do this and get a reply, great, go ahead and bid. If you receive no reply, then you know they likely will not be able to comply with your request and you should find another seller for the item(s).|||You seem to be buying very low value ,often with free S&H items from China. Example: Memory card reader .40 with Free S&H from Hong Kong. I highly doubt ,most sellers are going to go the extra mile for such low value, cheap items. These high volume Chinese sellers are all about volume and not customer service. Most are selling this inexpensive carp, just to get high feedback numbers in a short amount of time. If they don't get much feedback, they may realize why.|||I'm all for asking questions prior to bidding, but I don't think requesting a packing slip after purchasing is too much to ask for. That's an appropriate request to put in a payment note.|||I think it is essential to include a packing slip and a copy of the winning listing with each lot of goods I sell. I am a newby on eBay with 38 years in business so didn't think twice about including the essential paperwork when despatching items. So far, I have purchased one cheap item from China for my granddaughter and the communication was excellent from the time I won the bid to the time I opened the item. The second item was $850 and although the seller was agreed to the pick up time and payment date, communication only happened when I took the initiative. I was truly amazed. The other thing I don't like is sellers/buyers who want to email outside of eBay. I like eBay to have a record of all of my communications in case anything 'goes wrong'. Selling on eBay is a business whether it is an odd item or high volume. Perhaps each person needs to go through an education process before they can sell on eBay.|||variety-direct2u you are expecting all Ebay sellers "to do as you do". That is not going to happen. Each seller handles their Ebay business as they choose.|||The second item was $850 and although the seller was agreed to the pick up time and payment date, communication only happened when I took the initiative. I was truly amazed. What other communication did you want? I send a packing slip with all my items but I don't freak out when another seller doesn't. Everybody does things differently, if we didn't life would be awfully boring.|||I'd rather save the ink and paper than print a packing slip. I do include item cards (luckily my DH is a printer ). However, if I sold an item for $850, yeah - I'd probably print up a packing slip for that one! If I get a packing slip, it goes right in the garbage so I view them as junk mail honestly. I don't feel the need to perpetuate more junk mail myself by sending them out. But again, if anyone requests it, I would honor that request without any problem.
