I upgraded a friends iTunes to ver 9. When I went to sync his iPhone 3G, it appears he had never setup his apps to sync. When I clicked the checkbox it warned me that the iPhone apps would be replaced with the iTunes. There are no apps in iTunes, but 5 screens on his iPhone. I hate to wipe his phone clean. Any ideas? Is it safe to sync, will it just backup his apps to iTunes?
