Seller intercepted package - why?

After I bought an item, the seller left me positive feedback immediately and requested I leave him feedback ASAP. Then the seller shipped the item and again reminded me to leave feedback ASAP. I emailed the seller and told him I will leave feedback once I receive the item. About 12 hours later I receive an e-mail from UPS that says my package has been intercepted and scheduled for delivery 2 weeks later than the original ship date. Has anyone encountered such behavior before -- any reason for me not to cancel the transaction and have Paypal refund my money?|||About 12 hours later I receive an e-mail from UPS that says my package has been intercepted and scheduled for delivery 2 weeks later than the original ship date. So it's still going to be delivered to you? What exactly did the email say? Have you contacted the seller?||||||Regardless of what the seller may think, you have 45 days from the date of your payment to file for an Item Not Received or Item Significantly Not As Described. Plug the tracking number into the UPS website and then set up to receive e-mails for "exceptions" and "delivery" You could also log on as often as you wish and see if there are any updates to the package location. You are correct to not leave feedback until you have received the item and are happy it is as described in the listing. You have 60 days from end of listing to leave feedback.~ Lucy ~ Guide to eBay Board AcronymsClick on for links to Help Pages for a new eBayer|||beats me what the seller has in mind. even had he sent the wrong item by mistake, it would only take a day or so to send out the right item---and he would notify you. maybe he's just a nut case? as far as your feedback: 1- it's voluntary. 2- how could you leave feedbk about the condition of the item and quality of service BEFORE you even receive it? (you would need a good-working crystal ball.) there is no provision in the ebay sytem for a seller sending the bought item over two weeks after you paid. you could go ahead and get your refund, then leave appropriate feedback according to your experience.|||Sounds to me like maybe the Seller is in the 21 Day Hold Program. They wanted you to leave Feed Back so their funds would be released. Since you were on to that, Now they want to hold the item until their funds are released, 21 days. Give it a week, Then file INR and escalate immediately.Delivery Confirmation is confirmation of delivery, not tracking.|||If I had to guess, Apple MacBook Pro sold for $1250.00 + $23.00 for shipping Seller has NO Feed Back as a Seller since 10/10/2008 and that was a NEG Buyer never sent item and never contacted me. PayPal refunded my payment. Beware Like I said, I am seeing 21 Day Hold Program Give it a week from sale date so June 19th, Then file INR and escalate immediately.Delivery Confirmation is confirmation of delivery, not tracking.|||Ah, wasn't aware of the 21 Day hold program. Yeah that seems likely. I will continue to try and contact the seller. Hopefully he will realize that the money is also released 3-days after delivery confirmation, so by delaying shipment he is delaying his funds being released. Thanks for the help guys!|||Don't hold your breathe for him to honor this but it's going to happen to him no matter who he sells it to so he'd better face up to that. As well as a potential NPS and neg. DO NOT leave FB early of course. On the optimistic side I would say they recalled it to ship with SC instead of DC but your line about FB ASAP makes it pretty obvious what his deal is.~James~|||if it was because of a hold, why would the seller delay the very delivery scan that is needed to show to paypal to release the hold? it costs the shipper an additional $10 charge to have UPS reroute a package. so they might have mixed up 2 orders. it also costs a fee for delayed delivery.|||If it does not arrive on the date specified in the add and he won't respond to you by that day then I would open a case and get your money back and leave feedback accordingly. I never leave feedback until inspection of said item. It business. If you leave feedback before, you may forgo certain rights. I don't play no games. If I pay, then you send!||||||New seller subject to the 21 day hold. Seller was trying to circumvent the hold by asking for immediate feedback In this case, based on the information, I would file the INR with Paypal as soon as is possible, given the high fraud category item and seller's actions.|||Why, Oh, Why would anyone send $1200.00 to a seller like this? Also, why is this shipping by UPS when the auction states Priority Mail? !|||something is strange here. If you don't get a good explanation from the seller file a claim as soon as you can for a not received item so you can get your money back. I would attempt to cancel the transaction through paypal if you can.Even when I am telling a lie I am truthful. Rick
