App Update Problems ...

I have experienced this issue with 4 different apps, that I know of, and am not sure how many other apps I deleted as being "useless" because of the same problem...

When any of my apps has an update, I prefer downloading the update in iTunes and then syncing my iPhone in iTunes to get the newly updated app onto my iPhone. However, for some reason, the updated apps do not include many of the features as described in the "What's new in this version?" section of the app description in the App Store. I have found that by deleting the app from my iPhone and then re-installing the app, whether by direct iPhone re-download or just re-installing it from iTunes when I sync the device, seems to produce the features as described and also restores much needed stability to many of the apps that constantly crash. However, I must then setup all my settings and preferences for the app again which is a nuisance for most apps, but some of my apps (like Car Care) have quite a bit of data I have added that I do not want to lose.

I have 119 apps on my iPhone and 180 in iTunes. I really don't want to have to delete everything and start over from square one just to simply update my apps which used to run incredibly smoothly (before the 3.0.1 software update). I was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions as to how to resolve this issue. I initially thought the problem was with the app, but as I have now experienced the same issue with a few apps, I'm thinking it's more likely an iPhone software problem.
