purchaser not paying for an item
I had posted my husbands boat for sale on an autction and of course someone bid and won in the last few seconds, then he waited 2 days to tell me he doesnt want the boat, and i offered it as a second chance offer to second highest bidder, and now he doesnt want it either he already bid and won on another boat., what happens next? can i relist it? do i have to pay fees again? i opened a cancel transaction case., but wanna relist boat right away. what do i do??|||Wait until the case is closed. Then re-list.|||File the UID (unpaid item dispute) now . Wait 4 days and close it if no payment has been received. YES you can relist , but place the Non Paying bidder on your Blocked Bidder List so they can not rebid with that user ID on your auction. Link Do not continue to contact your non paying bidder Block Bidder Link Recreational and non paying bidders are very prevalent with Ebay Motors listings|||RE Ebay Motors Fees Link Link|||I would NOT relist on your usual seller's ID. Selling a used boat is one of the quickest ways to get a Negitive on your seller id. Buyers are buying used and expect new. Next when you relist make certain you state NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT via Paypal. Paypal deposits are NOT refundable on Ebay Motors vehicles, boats motorcycles. Next Your boat sale is subject to EBM Vehicle Protection Program called VPP Look here Link EBM vehicles boats etc are not subject to Ebay core's or Paypal's SNAD process. The VPP is limited and contains many exclusions for the buyer. You should NOT release the boat or title , until you have a cleared payment in hand. Understand cashier, bank checks for large ticlet items like a boat are often counterfeited and can bounce many weeks after you deposit them in your bank. If a bank /cashiers check is used for payment, it should be on a weekday , when you can call the bank listed on the check to verify the check. Look up the bank phone # yourself. DO Not accept Paypal for the full amount of purchase, only a small non refundable deposit. On a boat listing there are different Accepted payments methods allowed UNLIKE Ebay core , you can ask for cash in person, bank transfer, bank checks . Link If you have more questions , go to the Ebay Motors Board and they will help walk you thri the process.|||What reason if any did the original winning bidder give for not paying? The bidder has high enough feedback, to know better.|||" i opened a cancel transaction case" IF your bidder does not agree/ declines the request, then you can not file the UID and get nothing back from Ebay. You should have filed the UID! READ the UID process here Link The Cancel Transactin is for when, you are accepting a return and refund the buyer. Non Paying bidders use the UID. If the UID is filed and the buyer does not pay, they can not leave feedback ! Set a a new Seller ID to be used only for EBM. If the deal/sale goes bad, then your regular seller ID will not be hit with an unwarrented NEg which is very common when selling used vehicles, boats tec. A 0 feedback is NOT a bad thing on EBM as it may be on Ebay core items. Many sellers listing a one shot vehicle or boat sale have no or little feedback. Selling on EBM is not the same as selling on EBay core.|||He had said he wasnt aware of a large scratch on the boat, however i had stated it in my listing and also said see enclosed pictures, and there was a very clear and disitinct picture of the damage. i was just amazed that people actually bid win and not pay, he really screwed things up for us right now.||||||Buyer's excuse for not following thru is even more reason the UID shouod have been filed ,so he would receive a Non pay strike from Ebay. The description and photos clearly show the issue.|||Question? It's been 6 days since I sold a pair of shoes and the buyer has yet to pay and has not responded to the 2 payment request. I'm new to all of this so, what now?|||abby, Your buyer receives automatic payment reminders from eBay on day 2 and 4. Were your two "payment requests" invoices or friendly messages? If they were invoices you might want to compose a friendly reminder message today. You are able to go straight to filing an UID Unpaid Item Dispute, as it is more than four days, but I do recommend a friendly message first. There is a link to eBay's Resolution Center at the bottom of this page.~ Lucy ~ Guide to eBay Board AcronymsClick on for links to Help Pages for a new eBayer||||||Re: Post # 10 follow the instructions in post #4 for filing the UID Link File the UID, IF no payment is made, close the UID dispute on day 5 After you close the UID, then relist . DO put the non paying bidder on your Blocked bidder list , so they can't rebid on the relist. Link As suggested, if you do not already have a payment due within ___ days of auction end, this should be added to your auctions.|||OP It would also be useful to put an automatic Block on bidders with two or more Strikes for non-payment and on buyers with no Paypal account (for that non-refundable deposit.) You will find these blocks under your Seller Preferences.
